THE WORD "ĐẤY" IN VIETNAMESE
1. To indicate a thing, a place or a moment that has been identified or mentioned,
but they aren’t involved in the conversation or don’t appear at the time of speaking.
Example:
- Ai đấy?
- Đấy là cô Hòa.
- Who is that?
- That’s Mrs. Hoa.
2. To indicate a thing, a place or a moment that has been determined, but not
totally exactly.
Example 1:
- Mày đi đâu đấy?
- Where are you going?
Example 2:
- Mày đang làm gì đấy?
- What are you doing?
3. To emphasize the determination of what is mentioned.
Example:
Lái xe cẩn thận đấy nhé!
